When teeth are missing or need to be replaced dentures are one of your options. Many people think this can be an old fashioned approach but we know dentures still have their place and when made well by our skilled dental technician will give good service for many years. Dentures can be made out of plastics or a combination of plastic and metal to help strength. They are removable for cleaning and we generally advise you remove them to sleep.
We are also fans of Precision Attachment Dentures, these can be incredibly helpful if you struggle to retain a denture in position during chewing and talking.
A precision attachment denture is a denture which locks into your own teeth or into a dental implant placed within your bone. This “locking” effect holds the denture in place very securely giving you the confidence to socialise normally, and smile self-consciously.
Dental Hygiene is always important but particularly important with precision attachments and we will recommend you have regular visits to see our dental hygienist for maintenance.
