Replacing Teeth in Lichfield

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges are a great way to replace missing teeth in the right circumstances.

We offer two types of dental bridges:

  • Glued-In Bridges – These bridges are simply glued to one or both of the teeth on either side of the gap. We love these bridges as they are so predictable and cost-effective.
  • Conventional Bridges – These bridges are false teeth that are attached to crowns.  It involves the preparation of the adjacent teeth or tooth, which comes with downsides, but despite being an old technique, it still has it’s uses.

Regardless of the type of bridge we choose, it will always look good, but there are different downsides to both.

If you have a query just get in touch and we’ll be more than happy to advise.

What to Expect

Before embarking on treatment, we will plan your case carefully using photos, 3D scanning and smile design.  This often takes two visits.

Once we are all happy with the plan we will carry out preparation of your teeth, 3D scanning to record your teeth, and then placement of a temporary bridge where appropriate. Your gums can be a bit sore afterwards, but this usually clears up after 1-2 days.

The bridge is then manufactured at our lab and we fit it 2-3 weeks later.  Within an hour you’ll be eating as normal and showing off your brand new tooth.

Dentures, the plastic things? Err… yes and no.

Dentures are an extremely cost-effective way of replacing multiple teeth in one go.

Whether that is partial dentures or full dentures.  The problem is that they are more complex than people realise.

Having had extensive post-graduate training at Manchester Dental Hospital with one of the best, Stuart delivers dentures that utilise the best of the old and new techniques.  Each one handcrafted to deliver a great smile and good function.

What to Expect

Dentures are not an easy solution as we are replacing multiple teeth in one go, so getting the appearance and your bite correct can be tricky.

Our dentures are therefore created over 5-8 visits depending on the complexity.

Over these visits, we will:

  •  Scan or take moulds of your teeth and gums
  • Record your bite and the levels of your proposed teeth
  • Assess the appearance over 2-3 visits
  • Fit the final denture.

It can take a week or two to get used to everything, but once you’re used to them you’ll wonder how you ever wore your old ones.

Bridges

Replacing a tooth can be tricky, but Matt plumped for one of the simplest solutions around- a resin retained bridge. He chose this option because he didn’t want a brace, didn’t want to damage his adjacent teeth, and it was a fraction of the cost of an implant.
